Two weeks ago it was announced that Toda Erika and Miura Haruma would star in Fuji TV’s upcoming Monday drama, “Taisetsu na Koto wa Subete Kimi ga Oshiete Kureta“. We’ve learned that they will play an engaged couple and that they will depict the roles of teachers. The interesting part about the story was that Miura’s character is going to be in a relationship with a student at his school.
Today, Fuji TV has finally announced that the girl in that forbidden relationship will be played by young actress Takei Emi (16), and it will mark her first role in a Monday drama.
Hikari (Takei) and Shuji (Miura) will spend the night before the opening ceremony of the new school term together, not knowing that they are going to become teacher-student the next day. Once she finds out that he is her homeroom teacher, and that he is in such a oh-so-perfect relationship and is about to get married, her jealousy makes her want to destroy their relationship. However, knowing of the pain and darkness in Hikari’s heart, Shuji gradually gets the urge to help her out of this misery instead of trying use all of his energy to save his relationship with Natsumi (Toda). A truly complicated love triangle full of love and hate.
More than 800 girls auditioned for the role of Hikari, the key person of the whole drama.
Takei spoke about getting the role: “I was really surprised and jumping for joy when I was picked for a role in a Monday drama. I can’t wait for the filming to begin. I’d like to work hard with everyone at the set and hope that many people are going to watch this drama.”
The producers also stated why they’ve picked Takei for the role: “Takei was simply magnificent. You can see her amazing willpower in her eyes. We did the screening by judging all the girls from their appearance on the monitor, but in her case we were still able to feel her intensity as if she was standing right in front of us. I think she is the perfect choice for the role of the student that will be able to drive the two teachers played by Toda Erika and Miura Haruma into a corner.”
“Taisetsu na Koto wa Subete Kimi ga Oshiete Kureta” will start in January and air every Monday at 9 PM on Fuji TV.
Korean girl group KARA made an appearance on TBS’s popular game show, “Tokyo Friend Park 2“, which was aired on November 29th. ”Tokyo Friend Park 2″ is a show in which the guests compete different games, and for each game they beat, they will receive a gold coin that can be potentially exchanged for prizes later on.
Check out the videos below!
First Game: WALL CRUSH - “This is a game in which contestants will dress in a velcro suit and run towards a mini-trampoline, which will launch them towards a velcro wall. The objective of the contestant is to jump as high as they can to gain the highest position on the wall as possible. The higher the contestant can reach on the wall, the more points they will garner for their team. A coin is awarded to the team if and when they accumulate a preset number of points. The top corners of the wall have two large red rectangles marked ‘CLEAR!’; and if a player gets either hand to stick at least partly within the rectangle, they automatically win the coin.”
Question – “Are you girls athletic? What kind of sports have you played before?” • Hara – “Broad Jump” • Seungyeon – “Walking” • Gyuri – “I’m not really athletic, better at talking.” • Nicole – “I’m good at everything, but not jumping.” • Jiyoung – “Boxing”
Second Game: NEVER WIPE OUT! - “In this game, one player will stand on a platform that sways from side to side like a teeter-totter. In front of them is an attached giant platformed board that moves with the teeter-totter. A ball is dropped from the top and the player must use the teeter-totter and gravity to navigate the ball all the way to a basket at the bottom of the maze. If the ball falls off the edges, the player loses. The team has 6 tries to get a ball into the basket at the bottom, and a single successful attempt will award the team a coin.”
Third Game: GO! UPHILL – They run up the hill and try to place the marker at the highest point. Each person gets 20 seconds, so they can keep trying until the time ends.
Fourth Game: FLASH SAURUS – “This is also a 2-player game. One player will pump air into a vertical tube using what resembles a bicycle tire pump, while another player stands on an approximately 1 meter ledge. When the object inside the tube reaches the top, a series of track lights will come towards the player standing on the ledge. It is then his job to jump off the ledge in such a way that he will land on the ground below precisely when the track lights reach his platform. The faster the first player can pump air to get the object to the top of the vertical tube the slower the lights will travel, allowing a better chance the second player will trap the track lights below. The team has 8 attempts, and 3 successful trials wins them a coin.”
The hosts discuss Hara’s “cheat”, but since she did a great job, KARA still got a point out of it.
Fifth Game: HYPER HOCKEY – “This is always the last competitive game in the show. A comedy duo known as Honjamaka competes against the team to win a coin. The comedy duo both play air hockey each week so they are given a handicap of a ridiculous costume that hinders their ability to play. The first team to 7 wins, and if the contestant team wins they gain an extra coin.”
Big Challenge (Darts) - “At the end of each show, participants can choose between taking the coins or trading their coins in for darts. The value of the coins is unknown, but most contestants trade their coins for darts. Participants will then throw their darts at a large spinning dart-board. The dart board is divided like a pie graph and certain prizes are listed in each piece of the ‘pie’. If the dart hits the board, the board will stop and the contestant will win the prize shown. If the participant misses the board or if the dart bounces off, the contestant will win nothing. Prizes range from guest’s request to a car (Passo). There are also several pie pieces that have ‘tawashi‘ (translated as ’sponge’) on them. This is meant to be the joke prize, as if the contestant hits this piece, he will simply win a cheap sponge as opposed to an expensive prize.”
KARA received three golden coins as a result of their accomplishments during the games, but since they have five members, they choose who gets to participate in the darts through rock-paper-scissors.
• Gyuri – Treadmill • Seungyeon – Digital Camera • Nicole – Accessories • Hara – Laptop Computer • Jiyoung – Japan Tour For Family

The twenty-two years old college student Murayama Nagomi will represent Japan at the ‘Miss International Beauty Pageant‘ in 2011. A week ago, she won the Japanese finals and was praised by the judges for having the perfect “asian face”.
The term “asian face” has become a hot new buzzword since then, and so it’s no surprise that goo, NTT’s big Internet portal and search engine, posted various polls related to this term on NTT DoCoMo’s mobile polling service.
In the polls, they asked which Japanese female and male celebrities have a face that could be described as an “asian face”.

One of the things that most people seem to forget about Twitter is that, once you tweet, it’s not only your followers who read your thoughts – it’s the whole world. In less than .01 seconds, millions of people around the world are able to see them.
Unfortunately for visual kei rocker Aoi of the GazettE, more than his 41K of followers saw his initial comment about the fans of Vocaloid, and the artist was immediately swept up in a controversy.
Aoi tweeted on November 14th that he wasn’t too thrilled about how listeners and magazines treat animated singers as “real [artistic] works.” He does admit that the technology behind the software is amazing, but if that is considered music, then “what is the point in us making music?” (‘us’ is most likely referring to his band and/or every band out there). “I could go so far as to say it makes what we’re doing nothing but masturbation,” and “How is it that people can say that those machines are equal to actual artists. I don’t think so.”
When Vocaloid fans caught wind of this, he immediately deleted the tweet. But the damage had been done, and so today he continued to tweet more about it.
“I tried researching a little bit about Vocaloid, but some people told me it’s already too late. It is true that at the beginning I did think it’s like drum sampling. But it’s not the same as a person’s actual expression, and after that, I couldn’t read about it anymore. It’s the same for people, there’s different view points. Thank you^^.”
He also said that he read up on Vocaloid on Wikipedia and that he has heard of Hatsune Miku, admitting that the music was kind of catchy. He added that the melody isn’t bad, but at the key the voice is singing, it’s almost impossible for a human to sing that high. On a good note, Aoi did buy the software and even composed a song on it. Yet he still prefers natural voices over computerized ones.
Famous website, 2ch (ni channel), had a lot of mixed comments. There were people who agreed with him,(“He’s right,” “I agree, ” and “I don’t know who he is but he’s right“), and then there were others who disagreed with him. Those who were offended by his remarks commented, “They’re a cheaper version of Dir en grey,” “If he’s going to just say and delete it, the he shouldn’t have said anything at all,” and “Visual kei is a desecration to music.”
Skoop On Somebody will be releasing a new seasonal single, “Yukiuta ep.“, on December 1st, and the PV for its title track, “Donnani Hanaretemo” features an appearance from transsexual talent, Haruna Ai.
This is the first time for Haruna to star in another artist’s PV, and Haruno will play not one, but two different roles: “female, Haruna Ai” and “male, Ohnishi Kenji“, a couple who is in a long distance relationship. What’s interesting to note is that “Ohnishi Kenji” is also Haruna Ai’s real name.
Track List (Limited Edition will come with a DVD) -CD 1. Donnani Hanaretemo 2. Stay Together 3. Kitakaze (cover of Makihara Noriyuki’s) 4. WINTER SONG (cover of DREAMS COME TRUE’s)

On November 27th, a huge concert featuring Johnny’s Jr. members and trainees – “Nenmatsu Young Touzai Uta Gassen! Touzai Jr. Senbatsudaishugo 2010!” – was held at the NHK Hall. The concert was held in the format of a singing battle between the “A.B.C-Z + Johnny’s Jr. Senbatsu” (East) team and the “Nakayama Yuma + Kansai Johnny’s Jr. Senbatsu” (West) team.
A.B.C-Z members acted as hosts, and a total of 250 Jr.’s performed on the stage; there were 4 stages in all (once on the 26th, and three times on the 27th), which pulled in approximately 14,400 fans.
For the 27th’s afternoon concert, KAT-TUN’s Kamenashi Kazuya and NEWS‘ Yamashita Tomohisa showed up as “Shuji to Akira“(a special temporary unit) and performed “Seishun Amigo” together. NYC also appeared as a guest, but one of the more exciting factors was that a new group was introduced for the first time! Named “Ja(PA)Nese(HI)! (ジャPAニーズHI!)“, the group consists of 52 members who were chosen amongst the trainees by audition.
On New Year’s Eve, the concert from the night of the 27th will be broadcasted as “Toshiwasure! Johnny’s Touzai Uta Gassen” on TV Asahi (15:30-16:45 PM).
Additionally, the president of JE, Johnny Kitagawa, stated that he was aware of NHK’s “Kohaku”, and that he always wanted to make a “Young Kohaku” since it’s difficult for young artists to be invited to the awards show. He also said that he is planning to make it an annual event like “Kohaku”.

Two beauties from the Akita prefecture, actress Kato Natsuki and model/actress Sasaki Nozomi have been chosen as the new PR-Ambassadors to create a better image of the prefecture.
Akita is currently trying to boost up its image with various campaigns and one of those is to make use of their local famous beauties such as Kato and Sasaki.
Kato was born in Yurihonjo in the south-west of Akita and had been living in Akita since junior high, when she got elected as the image girl of a game company and made her debut. Sasaki, on the other hand, was born in the capital Akita and got scouted by a magazine while she was working at a fashion store in front of Akita Station.
As of next spring, both of them are going to promote Akita in various TV shows, appear at local events and posters throughout the prefecture.
Young actress Kawashima Umika (16) will star in her first drama called “Heaven’s Flower” next season, a romantic mystery in which she is going to disguise herself as an emotionless female assassin. It’s her first role that is not about a pure and innocent young girl.
“There is pressure as well, but first of all I’m looking forward to this role. I’ve always wanted to play an evil role!” she said. The role will also require a couple of action scenes about which she commented, “I’m going to receive some action training before the filming, because there will even be scenes with pistols and knifes.” Yet she didn’t seem to be nervous at all and added enthusiastically, “I hope and think that I will be able to show you a new side of me.”
The story is set in the year 2060, in a barren world without any flowers due to a failed experiment. Food is scarce and the whole world is in a crisis. Japan is split into several districts with some of them being better off than the other, but there are also those that have been left behind like the so-called “Seventh District.” The protagonist Ai played by Kawashima, is a member of a group of assassins called the “Last Garden,” who live and kill in this abandoned town. However, one day Ai meets a certain detective and falls in love with him and begins to be swallowed up by her fate involving trust, betrayal and a big secret surrounding her birth.
The detective will be played by D-BOYS’ Araki Hirofumi (27) while Ayano Go (28) will play his commanding officer. The leader of the assassins will be played by actress Mita Yoshiko (69), who hasn’t appeared in a drama series since 2006. Actor Honda Hirotaru (59) will also appear as the boss of the Chinese mafia who is about to become the biggest enemy of Ai.
The producers of “Heaven’s Flower” already created the hit drama “Around 40,” while its chief producer Iyoda Hidenori already produced other popular dramas such as “Mr. Brain” or “Shinzanmono.” The character designer of “Ryomaden,” will also help in creating the perfect outfits and makeup suitable for such a dark scenario.
This exciting new drama will start on TBS on January 14 and air every Friday at twenty past midnight.
