It’s been announced that “Wuthering Heights“, which is originally a novel written by Emily Bronte, will be adapted into a musical in Japan with Kawamura Ryuichi as a lead actor. “Wuthering Heights” was first published in 1847, and has been played as a stage performance all over the world.
Kawamura, who has previously acted in “CHICAGO“, receiving a high valuation, will be playing the role of Heathcliff. As the heroine, Catherine, both Hirano Aya and Abe Natsumi have been chosen. They will be double casting the role, and it’s said that this will be the first real challenge for Hirano Aya’s new career path.
“Wuthering Heights” will start playing on July 6th and will run until the 24th at Akasaka ACT theater in Tokyo, and then July 25th to the 31st at Umeda Arts Theater in Osaka.
