J-pop queen Ayumi Hamasaki updated her official Twitter with a special message, celebrating the thirteenth anniversary since her debut in 1998.
“Today, April 8th, Hamasaki Ayumi has come to her 13th anniversary. I’m so grateful to everyone,” the pop star tweeted to her fans around the globe. “Today, tomorrow, and the day after tomorrow, I’ll be singing songs.”
On April 8th, 1998, Hamasaki made her debut with a single titled “poker face”. After a string of modest-selling singles that failed to break into the top ten, the young singer surprised many when her first album, “A Song for XX”, topped the charts during its first week. Since then, Ayu has become one of the industry’s most famous solo female artists.
Congratulations to Ayu on her thirteenth anniversary!
