Inoue Mao worried about Takenouchi Yutaka on set
Back in June, we reported about the shoot for upcoming movie “Taiheiyou no Kiseki ~Fox to Yobareta Otoko~(Miracle in Pacific ~The man who was called Fox~)” in Thailand. Today, a press conference for the movie was held, and cast members Takenouchi Yutaka, Inoue Mao, Yamada Takayuki, and American actor, Sean McGowan, showed up. For the details on the movie check our previous post, here.

“Taiheiyou no Kiseki ~Fox to Yobareta Otoko~” will be released on February 11th, 2011.

The shoot in Thailand took about two months, and Takenouchi, who played the main character, General Ohba, said of the shoot, “It was very harsh, and way beyond my imagination. The temperature was over 40℃ in the daytime, and I have never experienced running in the heat, but I believe it will be able to touch peoples hearts.”

Inoue Mao said, “Although I had a hard time because of the heat and bugs, moreover, I couldn’t stop worrying about General Ohba (Takenouchi) getting skinnier, and skinnier.”

Takenouchi also said, “It’s amazing that Japan and America are now able to cooperate with each other to make a movie, although it has not even been 100 years since the war. I was playing the role thinking not only we should never repeat the war, but also we must not forget about the people who were living at that time.”
