ikura Nana to work in a Jidaigeki for the first time
Directors Inudo Isshin and Higuchi Shinji had announced in June that they be collaborating for the film adaption of “Nobou no Shiro” starring Nomura Mansai (44). It was however recently announced that Eikura Nana (22), who has never appeared in a jidaigeki, will play the heroine.

“Nobou no Shiro” will cast Nomura as Nagachika Narita a.k.a. “Nobou-sama”, a military commander during the Sengoku era. He’s famous for his victory against Hideyoshi Toyotomi during an attack on Oshi Castle.

Nobou-sama only had 500 people fight the massive army of 20,000 under Hideyoshi. Eikura on the other hand will play the role of Kaihime, the daughter of Narita clan’s heir, Narita Ujinaga. Kaihime, even though she’s a woman, was a skilled warrior and is critical regarding the defense of Oshi Castle. Because of her role’s fierce persona, Eikura will have to undergo training her skills in horseback riding and aikido.
