Countdown for the opening of Doraemon museum begins!

On September 3, a countdown signboard was set up at Kawasaki, Kanagawa Prefecture to mark the remaining days until the opening of a museum dedicated to the makers of Doraemon, Fujiko Fujio. The signboard is located in JR Noborito Station and took the form of Doraemon’s “Wherever Door” – the door that Doraemon used to go anywhere he wants.

The Fujiko Fujio Museum will be open to the public on September 2011, and will feature around 50,000 original drawings. Interestingly, other items used during the creative process – such as desks and pens – will also be displayed.

The museum is a 3-storey building and will include a mini theatre, a coffee shop and a roof garden ornamented by figures of Doraemon and other characters.until his death in 1996.
