Bon Jovi’s Japanese popularity brings them to Tokyo

Established American rock band, Bon Jovi, will be releasing their “Greatest Hits” best album this November in Japan and have decided that this is a perfect time to bring their tour to the country. The album itself will feature many of their best known songs, plus four new ones. Lead singer Jon Bon Jovi said, “these songs have withstood the test of time, but we will still look toward the future and never forget our roots.”

Bon Jovi is already a million seller in Japan. Back in 2001 the band actually released a Japan only best album titled “Tokyo Road” that sold tremendously well. The band debuted back in 1984, but despite having hit their 26th anniversary, they are going strong, especially in Japan. This ‘monster band’ has had their three most recent albums all hit number one on the Oricon weekly rankings in Japan, a feat many Japanese singers cannot claim to have achieved.

Currently they are scheduled to stop by Japan on their world tour on November 30th and December 1st, to do a two day show at the Tokyo Dome stadium. Considering their recent popularity in Japan, there is no doubt the performances will be very successful.

Ishikawa Marie to release first major song

Rhythmzone singer, Ishikawa Marie, will finally be releasing a full song, “Suki,” as a theme for Life Net life insurance commercials.

The R&B singer has been on the Avex sublabel for a while, but has focused on producing tracks with other singers. She gained attention for her cover of “Come Again” on m-flo’s recent tribute album under the name “Marie.” Ishikawa also sang a song called “I promise you” for quadraphonic’s debut album under the English name Marie Ishikawa. She seems to have finally settled into a name and a style and has her new song “Suki” up for Chaku-Uta cell downloads.

Although there is currently no single release planned for the new song, hopefully the up-and-coming singer will do well enough with digital downloads to justify putting out a full single.

Avex has a teaser up for the song on their youtube channel and the song is definitely catchy. J-pop fans looking for someone new to listen to should definitely check it out.

HALCALI, known for their unique style and dancing, stays true to their image in the PV. Vanilla Beans set to release a Best album

On September 22nd, idol pop duo, Vanilla Beans, will release their first best album, “VaniBest“, as they have just finished the recording and artwork.

The best album will contain fun songs from the beginning of Rena and Rika’s career, such as “U ♡ Me” and “a little crying,” but there will be alternative recorded versions with newer member Risa on them, so even older fans have something new. They will also include covers on the album, notably Pizzcato Five classic “Tokyo wa Yoru no Shichiji“, and Jack 10’s ending theme “100bankai no SMK“.

When all the new songs and newly recorded versions are put together, there are a total of 11 new tracks on the best album. Plus, as a bonus, the group has included four versions of their “Hyakuninisshuu” radio CM.

Not surprisingly though, the aspect of the new release that is getting the most attention is the cover art. It shows the duo leaning in about to kiss each other, using the same style as they did for their May mini-album, “Def & Def.”

Do you think the marketing ploy will work once again, or is it just becoming repetitive now?
