Actress Horikita Maki recently visited Jakarta, Indonesia to film a special report for NTV’s upcoming “24 Hour Television 34 ~Ai wa Chikyu wo Sukuu~” special.
Last month, Horikita was announced as one of the charity personalities for the program, where she would join other Japanese volunteers to help children in need.
One of their projects included a “mobile library”, in which they visited children in various locations and let them enjoy Japanese picture books that have been specially translated into Indonesian.
Being the bookworm that she is, Horikita enjoyed helping the mobile library a lot and even tried to read the books outloud in Indonesian for the children on her final day. She also helped out during a puppet show, played some basketball with the children, and taught them origami as well.
Horikita commented, “I was able to see the reality of those children with my own eyes and, in my own way, found something that I, as an adult, could do for those children. It was very touching to see their smiles. I want everyone to see the people from our country who organized this ‘mobile library’, and the innocence of those children when they are gazing at the picture books.”
“24 Hour Television 34″ will air on NTV on August 20th and 21st.
The ladies of ZONE finally kicked off their one month-comeback promotions with a special stage on “Coming Soon!!“.

AKB48’s new campaign for ‘Apaman Shop‘ has kicked off with an adorable CM.
The girls from AKB48 are at your service to help you find a good home! They sport sparkly blue uniforms and perform their newest single, “Flying Get“, while displaying an unusually acrobatic stunt.
According to an announcement on Hello! Project’s official website, Morning Musume members Mitsui Aika and Sayashi Riho will be withdrawing from their current concert tour, “Hello! Project 2011 SUMMER“.
Because of her previous ankle fracture, Mitsui is being advised by a doctor to rest for approximately eight weeks. Sayashi is currently at home for sciatica (pain, numbness or weakness in the leg caused by the injury/compression of the sciatic nerve), and will not return for about six weeks.
Mitsui developed a stress fracture in her ankle last May while on tour with Morning Musume, but decided to continue working while treating her ankle. Although the idol sat for many of her performances, it appears as if the condition was not entirely healed, so doctors are requiring that she take a break.
Sayashi brought attention to pain in her lower back after their July 16th performance in Nagoya, and has since been surveyed by doctors to see how her condition developed. As a result of her medical examination on the 28th, however, the young idol was diagnosed with sciatica and assigned a required six-week rest to recover.
Both girls will miss out on the rest of the Hello! Project summer tour this year.
